Biography
Dr. Sasa Janjanin is a highly experienced ENT specialist with over 25 years of surgical expertise, dedicated to diagnosing and treating the root causes of breathing and sleep disorders.
For patients struggling with snoring, poor sleep, or chronic nasal blockage, his focus is not just symptom relief, but restoring proper airway function.
Patients who have spent years relying on temporary solutions or living with disrupted sleep
often discover that an unaddressed airway issue is at the root of it.
He is double European Board-certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery, with advanced training from internationally recognized institutions including Mayo Clinic and George Washington University. As a Fulbright Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, he conducted research in regenerative medicine, earning both MSc and PhD degrees in biomedical sciences.
Dr. Sasa began his career in Europe as a faculty member at Zagreb University Hospital, where
he trained medical students and residents while performing complex ENT and head and neck
procedures. Since moving to Dubai in 2011, he has built extensive clinical experience,
performing hundreds of procedures each year with a strong focus on airway correction and
functional breathing.
Airway & Sleep-Focused Expertise
A central part of Dr. Sasa’s work is the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, snoring, and airway-related breathing disorders. Rather than treating these as isolated
conditions, he evaluates how nasal structure, soft tissue, and airflow contribute to disrupted sleep.
He manages conditions such as:
- Nasal obstruction and deviated septum
- Chronic sinus disease
- Turbinate enlargement and airway restriction
- Upper airway collapse contributing to sleep apnea
His treatments range from precise medical management to advanced surgical procedures,
including septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and minimally invasive sinus and airway surgery, all
aimed at improving breathing and sleep quality.
Precision in Nasal Breathing & Sinus Surgery
Proper nasal breathing is fundamental to oxygen intake, sleep, and overall health. Dr. Sasa specializes in restoring natural airflow through advanced, minimally invasive techniques such as Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and nasal airway reconstruction.
His approach is conservative and highly targeted, focusing on improving function while
preserving natural anatomy.
Experience Across Adult & Pediatric ENT
In addition to airway and sleep conditions, Dr. Sasa provides comprehensive ENT care for both
adults and children, including pediatric airway concerns, ear conditions, thyroid and neck
disorders, and voice-related issues.
This broad expertise allows him to approach each case with a complete understanding of how
different systems of the head and neck interact, particularly when it comes to breathing and
sleep.
Research, Innovation & Clinical Excellence
Dr. Sasa has contributed extensively to the advancement of ENT and surgical science, with
more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and extensive participation in international conferences.
His research focused on stem cells and tissue engineering, reflecting a deep commitment to
innovation and evidence-based care.
He is also a member of leading international societies, including:
- European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery
- European Rhinologic Society
His Approach at LH Clinic
At LH Clinic, Dr. Sasa plays a key role in the airway and sleep program, working closely with the team to provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment.
His philosophy is clear: breathing is the foundation of health, and many chronic symptoms, especially those related to sleep, begin with undiagnosed airway issues.
By combining ENT expertise with a broader airway-focused approach, he helps patients move beyond temporary solutions and toward lasting improvement in both breathing and quality of life.
